I think this is where we want to be, and we see it continuing to take off with players like Facebook, Google etc all in the game. I want to hear from those who have tried, and embraced the open switching world. They're compatible with Cumulus, and I've always had great success with Dell warranties and enterprise support. This gives us a bit more piece of mind using something like Dell Networking S6000-ON switches which are very much on the cheaper end, but specs look great. We liked Cumulus Linux, and there were a couple other contenders.įor hardware, we're planning on going with redundant everything, even TOR's and NICs. We know that our virtualized environment (OpenStack) is going to be a huge portion of our continued growth, however, we're really wanting to use some whitebox switches. Point being we're looking at a MAX of around 900 servers (expected) in the initial phase. It's not huge, it's just barely over a half MW. We're still in final stages of designing our new data center.
